Maureen keeps the business moving forward "behind the scenes". Matter of fact, it's very weird to be blogging about "me"... but, that's part of my job description.
I have a background in computers... from Help Desk to IT support. When Randy and I were starting to pull together the pieces necessary to start a business, of course, I wanted the Web Site, Marketing, and Quickbooks components... they all involve computers!
I do NOT have an accounting background, but with a little research and a LOT of questions, I was able to get Quickbooks up and running relatively quickly to manage our accounting side of the business.
While Randy is the craftsman behind RATZ Woodworking, I am the craftsman behind the scenes. We truly fill each others gaps. I can't build or fix a house, and Randy struggles to figure out the computer side of things... TOGETHER, we make RATZ Woodworking run as a complete unit.
Unlike Randy, I did not go to college... instead, I did a number of seminars and lots of "on the job" and "hands on" training. This direction choice landed me a number of great opportunities to shine in my field of expertise.
We have 2 young children under 5 years of age. That's where most of my time is spent during the day. My days are pretty busy working with the our kids and running our business.
In any given day, my "to-do" list could look like this:

- getting our preschooler to and from school each day
- head out with our toddler to the library for story time
- complete invoicing in a timely manner
- help Randy put together Proposals
- computer maintenance
- AND... update our web site and facebook page
